I am 64 years old and have never been to art school. I call Aldergrove B.C. home, it’s a nice little town on the outskirts of Vancouver. I started making art in my twenties and I have worked with a number of mediums. Soapstone and Alabaster were my first and I carved and sold quite a few pieces. I moved on to pencil, charcoal, and watercolor. I have also done several carvings in wood. When I started painting with an airbrush, I loved it! I have painted several Motorcycle Tanks, Fenders, Toolboxes and yes even a Fridge. As life and work got in the way my art took a back seat for about 20 years, but now that I’m closing in on retirement and the kids have all moved, I find myself with spare time to begin painting in earnest. I figure if grandma Moses can start at 78 then I can start back up at 64. I have always loved Nature and animals so I paint what I love, no more motorcycle flames or skulls, just the things I want to paint. I have found in my years that painting what other people want takes the fun out of it and turns it into just a job.
I hope that looking at my art brings some joy to those who see it.
